Innovative Medium Voltage Sensors for the Smart Grid

The first product line developed by Altea is a family of innovative electronic current and voltage sensors for Medium Voltage applications (at present up to 36 kV-630 A-16 kA), based on proprietary and patented technologies, that can be used as an alternative to conventional current and voltage transformers, ideal components for the Smart Grid.

They are extremely compact and lightweight and have a very high accuracy (exceeding class 0.1). They can be used for classical purposes like protection and measurements in MV applications and, thanks to their large bandwidth (up to 100 MHz), are also suitable for power quality monitoring, synchrophasor metering, fast transients detection and diagnostics, without the huge limitations of conventional current and voltage transformers.
